Summer Learning LLC
ABOUT
Ms. Guinn and Ms. Terrone have worked together for two years, during which time they learned how similar their teaching styles were, though they have different learning styles. Together they are able to analyze their students' needs and work together to devise the best methods of teaching. They pride themselves on their ability to reach all students, regardless of learning style and interest levels.
Ms. Guinn and Ms. Terrone feel they are always battling the clock and calendar, and they just wish there was more time in the day to teach! This is what prompted the start up of GT Summer Learning: provide time to meet with students to focus on the core instructional subject areas that most students struggle in. What could be better than spending time to make sure students are prepared for the upcoming school year? As teachers, they value the opportunity to work with (and learn from!) students in a small-group environment.
In addition to core subjects, GT Summer Learning offers a STEM class that will expand on the instructional standards in a fun, hand-on way. While visiting the Maryland Science Center on a field trip, Ms. Terrone was approached by a parent asking, "Why can't this be what they do everyday at school?" The GT STEM class will provide that opportunity!
Ms. Guinn and Ms. Terrone are so excited to launch their program and continue to help students reach their highest potential through rich, quality instruction.
